Squeakers

The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habbitat at the Mirage was so much fun. The boys and I went for free with Warner's class, and we had a blast. I was surpirxed that both of the boys were more fasinated with the dolphins than the lions and tigers. Xander kept calling the dolphins, "elephins" I think he got them confused with elephants (which were nowhere to be found, go figure). As we were leaving Warner was showing off what he had learned by quizing himself.....

"I know what dolphins eat, ... fish.... and squeakers... I know, I could hear it stuck in their head."

A Tender Mercy... Burger King!?!?

I never thought I would be so grateful for a fast food place, and the role it would play in helping me keeping my sanity. There are little things around us everyday that are proof that our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy; today that proof came in the form of Burger King. I have really been struggling with Xander lately, so much so, that I feel too overwhelmed to go anywhere or even answer the phone for fear of someone else getting a better glimpse of my stressful situation. I have been feeling very lonely, though never actually getting any alone time. So I took the kids to lunch and brought my new book along, just in case. I was amazed at how well Xan played, so I read Breaking Dawn for three hours in the play-land, all the while telling my self that at the first sign of contention or hostility we would leave, but amazingly, every one did great. Of course on the way home and for more than an hour afterward Xander exploded into what we lovingly refer to as a "meltdown." It was worth it. I needed that time with just me, Bella, Edward, and the happy sounds coming from a dozen kids in the jungle-gym.

Breaking Dawn (relax..this post contains no spoilers!)

My sister Amie and I went to a Breaking Dawn book release party in California. It was so much fun. We wore matching Twilight T-shirts, and few cute buttons that we ordered at zazzle.com. The really great part (or psycho part, depending how you look at it) was that we covered our face with white, glitery eyeshadow, with a bit of gray undser our eyes,... a little silly but we went as Rosealie and Alice.

Even though I was probably the oldest person at the party, I felt like a teenager agian, as the hundreds of Twilighters whoped, clapped, and screamed, making me the winner of the costume constest. Usaully everything about the Twilight series makes me feel young and reminds me of what it was like to be in high school when the most important thing in the world was that cute boy. (I think that's one of the reasons it appeals to moms so much,.. it's so much of and escape from reality.)

This picture was taken at 1:30am, after the party, so I'm afraid a little of the magic of the night had worn off.

Tom is a huge Batman fan, and by default so am I (we weren't among the hundreds of weirdos who dressed up... but we wanted to be!) At 12:05 this morning, our waiting finally paid off as we saw what is probably the best movie...EVER! Worth the money..Worth the wait.. worth the time! I can honestly say that I cannot wait to see it again. Thanks to Kevin and Em for being nerds with us a showing up 3 hrs early to wait in line to see the movie; and thanks so Kilee for staying up for 6 hrs to baby sit our kids.

(This film is definitely not for the kiddies).

The Secret Wish

Last night at bedtime, Kaylee and I shared a tender moment.....

Kaylee- "Mom, do you have a secret wish? Like for something real or something that doesn't exist?"

Mom- "Hmmm, I'd have to think about that. Do you?"

Kaylee- "Yes, What I wish for more than anything in the whole world, is to be with my family forever."

Mom- "That does exist, our family can be together forever, because we were sealed together in the temple."

Kaylee- "So we'll be with each other forever, even after we die?.... (relieved) There's nothing better than having your family there to help you, no matter what. I love you!"

Mom- "I love you too!"

After taking the "Which Princess are You?" Quiz, I was not surprised at all to find that I am most like Ariel. I have known that for years. It may sound a bit strange but since my family has always been Disney followers and Princess lovers, my sister and I have often talked about which princess many of our friends and family were. I love having out-of-town visitors!! It's a great reason to go out and do something fun.. or crazy.

We had an awesome time at Roxies' Diner. It's a fun atmosphere and always fun to try something new with the kids. It was good food and good company. One interesting note... Xan spent most of the time under the table or teasing the live DJ. He would only eat onion rings, and au jus dipping sauce?! We always knew that kid was a nut!

Immediately after eating, we rode the elevator for approx. 37 seconds to the top of the 1,149 ft tower. The boys were amazed at how much we could see from up there and Warner tried to figure out the telescopes. Tom found it amusing to put his job site in his hand. Kaylee thought she wanted to ride the rides (crazy), but she was too short. It's probably a good thing anyway because once we were up there, looking down, she realized that she has a great fear of heights. So just Tom, Amie, and Andrew rode Insanity, and the X-scream; and surprisingly, the thought of losing their recently eaten meals, added to the humor and craziness of the rides.
