I never thought I would be so grateful for a fast food place, and the role it would play in helping me keeping my sanity. There are little things around us everyday that are proof that our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy; today that proof came in the form of Burger King. I have really been struggling with Xander lately, so much so, that I feel too overwhelmed to go anywhere or even answer the phone for fear of someone else getting a better glimpse of my stressful situation. I have been feeling very lonely, though never actually getting any alone time. So I took the kids to lunch and brought my new book along, just in case. I was amazed at how well Xan played, so I read Breaking Dawn for three hours in the play-land, all the while telling my self that at the first sign of contention or hostility we would leave, but amazingly, every one did great. Of course on the way home and for more than an hour afterward Xander exploded into what we lovingly refer to as a "meltdown." It was worth it. I needed that time with just me, Bella, Edward, and the happy sounds coming from a dozen kids in the jungle-gym.

A Tender Mercy... Burger King!?!?

Oh my word, if anyone can sympathize, it is me! I know exactly how you feel and how rough it is. Just know that you can always vent to another mother of a difficult child. And seriosuly, how can any time spend with Edward get any better.
That was good to read! I'm happy to know that someone else has a toddler who has meltdowns too. Looks like our boys are about the same ages. I bet they would have fun playing together. :)
Good to know that you got some time to yourself!
Now all you need to do is let me know if that book is any good. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, and I want to know if it is a hit or miss. What say you?
The Lord works in mysterious ways! Glad you got a break!
Yeah we should get together. Kids or no kids? You guys could come to my house but I'll have to worn you - I could use some new carpet so I'm a bit embarassed about that.
Glad to hear that you had a break ~ even if only a short one. We should have a girls night!
Thank heavens for jungle gyms! I'm sorry you've been having such a rough time. I hope you get some more tender mercies to help you deal with these tough Xander times. Could I take him to the park with us next time we go to give you a break? Talk to me at Enrichment.
